About Aluminum
Aluminum (Al) is the most abundant metal in the Earth's crust, yet until 1886 it was rarer than gold โ Napoleon III famously reserved aluminum cutlery for his most honoured guests. The Hall-Hรฉroult electrolysis process changed everything, and aluminum is today the second most-used metal after iron.
Its strength-to-weight ratio (one third the density of steel), natural corrosion resistance and full recyclability make it the backbone of modern aerospace, automotive lightweighting and beverage packaging. Recycled aluminum uses only 5% of the energy of primary production.

Main uses
- Aircraft fuselages, car body panels and EV battery casings
- Beverage cans and food packaging foil
- Power-transmission cables (ACSR conductors)
- Window frames, faรงades and architectural cladding
- Heat sinks for electronics and LED lighting
LME-deliverable aluminum is 99.7% minimum (P1020A). Higher-purity 4N (99.99%) is used for electronics, and ultra-pure 5N (99.999%) for semiconductors. Common engineering alloys are 6061 (structural) and 7075 (aerospace).
